Your ability to control a balance should stay in your hands. veil uses locally created keys and encrypted recovery files. That independence comes with responsibility: keep your recovery file, its passphrase, and access to your original wallet.

03prove what the transaction needs.

Zero-knowledge proofs let a system check a statement while keeping its private witness out of the public inputs. We use that idea for trade authorization: prove ownership, prevent double-spends, and conserve value without publishing the note owner in trade inputs.

A privacy claim should be specific enough to challenge. The proof statements, public data, protocol fees, and operational assumptions should be understandable. We document the boundaries, name the unfinished work, and invite scrutiny.
